Ushig Shortlisted for the Essex Book Awards

We recently found out that Ushig by Annemarie Allan has been shortlisted for the wonderful Essex Book Award 2010! The award is run by the Essex School Library Service and is voted on by hundreds of secondary school pupils.

Also shortlisted are Where I Belong by Gillian Cross; Auslander by Paul Dowswell; Drawing with Light by Julia Green; Crown of Acorns by Catherine Fisher; Jake Ransom and the Skull King’s Shadow by James Rollins.

In February 2011, the votes will be counted and verified and the winning author will be invited during the Summer Term to give a presentation to all participating schools. Any schools looking to become involved in the Essex Book Award should contact Nickie Carpenter at nickie.carpenter2@essex.gov.uk.
